Hadassah was created subconsciously, with many elements from black history, religion and culture. A goddess from a different world is behind the children, where she decides who gets to receive water children. Images such as water , gold and children found in the work are meant to symbolize wealth, knowledge and innocence.
About the Artist
Esther Calixte-Bea was born in Canada in the province of Quebec in 1996 of Haitian and Ivorian descent. She has been pursuing her dream of becoming a professional artist since high school, at the age of 12, where she first started painting. She graduated from Dawson College in Visual Arts and has completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Concordia University in Painting and Drawing.
